Poetry & Prints

Poems & poetry are powerful and effective when done well.  All of us have had to study and memorize assorted poems as we went through school.  Popular songs are, for the most part, poetry set to music.  Pictures, painting and all the varieties of images are also powerful and effective.  A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words is certainly true some of the time, but I have to think a well crafted poem is much more powerful than normal words.

It seems to me the power of both media can be combined to create a whole new category; and that's where the Poems on Prints idea came from.  We have gotten started with the digital camera experience and now have thusands of pictures of a variety of flowers, animals, insects, buildings and natural beauty.  Powerful software such as InDesign  is now affordable and it will be possible to offer notecards, posters and other items that combine out pictures with poems we select. 

Unfortunately, there is a large learning curve to master before that will be possible.  In the meantime, a visit to Ebay quickly establishes that I am not the first person to think poems on pictures is a good idea.  Below are the results of an Ebay search showing current auctions for poems on prints.  Clicking on any of the links will take you directly to that auction.  Until I can get my offerings completed perhaps this will provide what you are looking for.
